VRAM is the number one spec that matters
Redshift is built to be extremely fast on NVIDIA GPUs, but it needs enough VRAM to hold your scene's textures, geometry and lighting data simultaneously. Run short, and render times balloon or the render fails outright -- this is the single most common complaint from underspeced Redshift setups.

Multi-GPU: worth it for studios, overkill for individuals
Redshift supports multi-GPU rendering well, and studios running frequent, large jobs sometimes add a second card specifically for render throughput. For individual freelancers and small teams in Uganda, a single well-specced card (16GB+) is almost always the better starting point before considering a second GPU.
CPU and RAM still matter, just less
Redshift itself is GPU-bound, but scene preparation, simulation and general software responsiveness still benefit from a solid CPU (6-8 cores) and enough system RAM (32GB) to comfortably hold your project files alongside the render process.
Our recommendation
For most Ugandan freelancers and small studios doing Redshift work through Cinema 4D or 3ds Max, a 16GB RTX 4070 Ti Super or 4080-class card is the practical sweet spot -- enough VRAM headroom for real commercial work without the 24GB-card price jump most projects don't yet require.
