Why a streaming PC needs more than a gaming PC
A single-PC streaming setup needs enough CPU headroom to run the game and the encoder simultaneously without either one starving the other. This is the single most common cause of dropped frames and stutter for streamers on underpowered hardware.
- CPU: more cores matter here more than for pure gaming -- Ryzen 7/9 or Intel Core i7/i9 gives the encoder room to work without stealing frames from the game
- GPU: modern NVIDIA GPUs (RTX 40-series and up) include a dedicated hardware encoder (NVENC), which handles encoding with almost no performance hit to the game itself -- this is what most streamers should lean on rather than pure CPU encoding
- RAM: 32GB is a safer minimum once you add OBS, chat, Discord and a browser running alongside the game
- Capture card: needed if you're running a two-PC setup or capturing from a console
What we bundle for streamers
We spec streaming builds around NVENC-capable GPUs so you get clean encoding without a second PC, and can add a capture card to the order for console or dual-PC setups. Every build is tested running a game and an encoder simultaneously before it ships, not just benchmarked idle.
Tell us what you stream (which games/platform) and whether you want a single-PC or dual-PC setup -- we'll recommend the right build.
