What each program actually needs

AutoCAD & Revit

Both are CPU and RAM heavy rather than GPU-hungry. A fast 6–8 core CPU and at least 32GB RAM will keep large drawing files and BIM models responsive — this matters more than a top-tier graphics card here.

Lumion & Twinmotion

These are real-time renderers built on game engines, so they lean almost entirely on the GPU. This is where an RTX 4070 or RTX 5070-class card (or better) makes the difference between a smooth walkthrough and a slideshow.

SketchUp

Lighter than the above, but still benefits from a mid-range GPU once you add V-Ray or Enscape rendering plugins.

Recommended specs and Uganda pricing

Our professional-tier builds are specced exactly for this workload — strong CPU, 32GB RAM, and a GPU that can be paired up if you move into heavier Lumion rendering:

One thing most Kampala PC shops won't tell you

A workstation for architecture doesn't need a gaming-grade cooling setup or RGB — the money is far better spent on RAM and the GPU. If a quote for an "architect PC" is heavy on lighting and light on RAM, you're paying for the wrong things.

Tell us which software you run day-to-day (AutoCAD, Revit, Lumion, SketchUp, Twinmotion) and we'll match you to the right spec.
